Safety Guidelines
PomeConnect is designed with safety as a top priority. Follow these guidelines to ensure safe and reliable operation of your system.
Electrical Safety
PomeConnect operates within strict electrical boundaries to ensure user safety:
- The system runs on a maximum voltage of 5 volts
- Power is delivered through the Master Module, which regulates and distributes energy to all connected modules via magnetic contacts
- Do not connect external power sources - this can disrupt internal protections and cause permanent hardware damage
- Do not connect third-party electronics - only use sensors and development boards certified by PomeLabs
Using Official Modules
PomeConnect is a closed hardware ecosystem designed for safe operation:
- Use only official modules provided or certified by PomeLabs
- All official modules include built-in protections for fault-tolerant operation
- Third-party or homemade modules may cause unpredictable behavior or hardware damage
- Using non-certified components may void warranties
- Source modules only through PomeLabs or authorized partners
Magnetic Connections
The magnetic connection system ensures safe and correct assembly:
- Modules are designed to fit in only one orientation
- Align modules gently - magnets will guide correct alignment
- Avoid forcing connections or connecting in wrong directions
- Follow the labeling and physical indicators on each module
- Handle with care to maintain hardware integrity
Environmental Care
Protect your modules from environmental hazards:
- Use in dry, dust-free, and anti-static environments
- Avoid water, humidity, and extreme temperature fluctuations
- Place modules on non-conductive surfaces (plastic, wood, anti-static mats)
- Avoid metal tables or ungrounded surfaces
Storage and Handling
Proper care extends the life of your modules:
- Store modules in dedicated protective cases when not in use
- Handle with clean, dry hands
- Avoid dropping, bending, or stacking modules
- Encourage careful handling habits among users
Maintenance
PomeConnect requires minimal maintenance:
Software Updates
- The web platform updates automatically
- No manual installation required
- Updates include new features, activities, and bug fixes
Hardware Care
- Clean occasionally with a soft, dry cloth
- Avoid liquids, solvents, or abrasive materials
- If a module becomes unresponsive or damaged:
- Stop using it immediately
- Report to your instructor or technical lead
- Contact PomeLabs support if you're an administrator
